(More customer reviews)It was not possible for me to connect my SkyFi directly to an auxiliary input on my vehicle.I got the wireless FM modulator (the one that plugs into the cigarette lighter) and was completely unimpressed with the sound quality.I had lots of static and interference - it sounded like an AM station; not even FM quality.I knew direct connecting the signal to the antenna input would help, so I decided to give this device a try.Well, let me say: WOW!It was well worth the effort; the sound is nearly as good as a CD!I could not be happier.

Installation is a bit of work, but well worth it.If you have ever installed a stereo in car, this should be no problem.There are three things you need to do: 1) get is access to where the antenna plugs into the back of the existing stereo 2) find a switched power lead (usually from the back of the cigarette lighter) and 3) locate a good chassis ground.

One of my main questions was if this device switched off the external antenna when the SkyFi is powered up.I even called Delphi's tech support and asked this question.Many of the 3rd party FM modulators have a switch that mounts somewhere in your car to disconnect the car's antenna, thus eliminating any interference.I really didn't want to cut a hole somewhere in my dash to mount another switch.The tech support told me it did NOT have anything that switched off the external antenna.While technically this may be true it DOES have some filtering because whenever I turn my SkyFi on, the entire lower half of my FM stations goes to static.So, essentially even if there is a local station near the frequency you select, it should not interfere with the sound quality.

So, if you have a SkyFi and are using the wireless modulator (or even if you are using a SkyFi2 with the built in wireless modulator) you are getting lousy sound quality compared to how it COULD sound.It takes a bit of work to install - but it's well worth it - trust me!

Motorola D650 Bluetooth iPod Adapter (89147J) Review

(More customer reviews)The design of this device is severely flawed. It disconnects extremely easily (try a slight bump, even inside a case) when doing anything even remotely active. Mine came as part of the iPod/S9 "Active" adapter kit...and it is so completely worthless that I am returning it.

Every time the d650 gets bumped or has pressure put on it (such as when bending over with it inside a case clipped to my waist) it disconnects from the iPod, loses power, and then has to be re-paired with the headset...which requires that you monitor a colored light on the headset...which requires that you take it off.

Every ten or so time it pairs with the headset it requires that you pause and unpause the iPod, which requires that you remove it from whatever case you're using to do something active with it, and putting back in the case can provide enough force to dislodge the d650 and start all over.

In short, it's going back.

True, this device is poor quality (crap quality), one has to be patient with it since it will not tolerate ANY abuse.
Either way, it works for my intended use and it's a lot cheaper than the alternative $800 intercom system from Peltor.
You be the judge; $65 vrs $800.If you have lots of extra money, don't waste your time.If you don't, then put up with a delicate piece of junk.Its working for me.
Additionally, if you intend to use the metal belt clip on the back, buy some super glue before using it.

The Clarion EQS746 is more than just an equalizer. First thing, the sound quality of this equalizer is hard to find even in professional studio grade equipment, with Signal-To-Noise Ratio (S/N) of 105 dB, a Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of 0.005 % and Frequency Response from 10 Hz - 50,000 Hz, this equalizer is definitely for people who want to hear music as was recorded, no noise, no distortion, wide dynamic range means high quality sound without compromise.
To make things even better the Clarion EQS746 inputs/outputs are all gold-plated, so you get no corrosion and better signal transfer.

The Clarion EQS746 also acts as a Low-Pass Crossover with selectable frequency of 60 Hz or 90 Hz (12 dB/octave Crossover Slope), add to that a separate subwoofer volume level control at your finger tips and a stereo sub-out --which makes perfect sense-- you're in control of the bass!

The Clarion EQS746 has 6 RCA outputs, two for stereo subwoofer and 4 for two pair of stereo speakers (front/rear) you can operate the device with only front or rear, or with both connected. Moreover your get a fader control to adjust the sound level between the front and rear speakers.

The main volume control is another story, because this is not just an equalizer as I said before it also acts as a pre-amp (AKA line-driver) with a Maximum Output Level of 7V RMS!

One last thing about this beautiful device is the AUX input with an easy to use "push-push" AUX button near the volume control. It means that you can select between twoaudio sources with just one click. Like you can connect your head unit as the primary source of sound and connect another --let's say portable audio player-- to the AUX input, and then select what audio source you want to listen to without having to plug/pull cables while on the road, how easy can that be! Oh did I mention that you can control the AUX input level per channel. I think you now get the picture why I chose this device and why I love it so much.

What's next? I think Clarion can add more than 7 EQ bands, let's say 15 so you can have more control over the sound shape.
The Low-Pass Crossover could have had more frequencies to select instead of two, 60 Hz is not deep bass enough for some people who like to tune at less than 40 Hz but anyway that's not a big deal because your subwoofer amplifier will take care of this.

I highly recommend this product.

Nady Mo-headset FORMRC-11 Review

(More customer reviews)The headsets work well and are easy to change from helmet to helmet. I also bought 2 Nady mrc-11x motorcycle communicators. These units have a few problems but work well for the money. The units come with an external ptt button you can mount on your handlebars I had the units replaced once and the external ptt button did not work on all 4 units. It is pretty simple to reach down and hit the ptt button on the unit clipped to your belt. The units do have vox but it is slow to react so it is easier to use the ptt button. The units work both bike to bike and as an intercom, however they do not work very well as both at the same time. When 2 headsets are hooked to the same unit the headsets are in constant communication therefor the wind and engine noise is heard constantly making it difficult to hear if someone from another unit is trying to talk.
I would recommend these units to anyone, I think the problems are minor and for the price they work very well.

(More customer reviews)This is the 2nd Imax 2000 antenna I've owned, and like it alot.After about 9 years, the fiberglass will deteriorate from the UV rays in sunlight, and then a strong wind will eventually bring it down, but for what they cost and how they perform, I am still satisfied.a friend and I tested this antenna side-by-side on the same evening about 30 miles apart.He had an A99 and an Imax 2000.While my antenna remained the same (my Imax), he switched between his A99 and the Imax physically (he mounted it on the same pole at the same base height) - yes, because the Imax is taller, this also gave it a slight height advantage...I noticed a 3 s-unit improvement on my receive signal from his station when he used the Imax 2000.He also noticed the same 3 s-unit improvement on receive at his end (from my station) while he used the Imax.We both found it hard to believe that there was this much difference over the A99 which is also a fine antenna.I won't bore you here with technical details, etc. - I won't argue "how many db an s-unit is", etc.- Also, for you people considering purchasing a ground radial kit for the A99 OR the Imax, my advice is save your money.It did NOT lower our angle of radiation.On a seperate evening he tested the A99 and the Imax both with and without the radial kits attached (at HIS end, my station remained unchanged...)We both noticed NO perceptible difference in signal strength at either station, receive or transmit of either antenna whether the radial kit was on the antenna or not.We still noticed the 3 s-unit improvement of the Imax 2000 over the A99, but nothing else.In fact he noticed a slight climb in SWR on the Imax when the radial kit was installed.

(More customer reviews)For the $ these speakers are nice.Installation is easy, and fairly fool-proof.I installed 6 in about 3 hours (the wiring was alreay in place).The speakers do come in pairs.They are NOT high-end speakers.To connect the speaker wires, you have to wrap them around connection tabs, versus the normal "insert the wire in to the black or red connection point".
Overall, I'm happy with them.

I tried replacing them with external speakers. At first I was dissappointed. Most external speakers (inexpensive ones) give poor quality sound. I then tried this Cobra. Fantastic! This speaker is built very well, has a large speaker, and produces the best sound that I have found from any external speaker. I purchased two of them, one for each rig, and am completely satisfied.

Uniden TCX905 Accessory Handset and Charger with Call Waiting and Caller ID Review

(More customer reviews)I bought two of these to supplement my Uniden Tru8888 after researching compatibility. While the software driving these phones has much of the interface of the TCX805/Tru888x line, I'll cut my stars accordingly for the Tru888x line. Comments about this expansion handset:

- The four-way joystick-like button is a blessing. The up-down buttons on the TCX805 are OK but the left-right buttons fail to work when editing a number in the phone book especially to add the 1 before an area code. They instead add # and *. Here, you don't have to re-type the whole number, just move where you want with the joystick. The odd but subsequently convenient Space typed by right-arrowing in text is gone, apparently replaced by the character range on zero, one of which is a space. Operation in low light is a lot easier with the big joystick button.

- Two numbers per phonebook entry seems to be new here, and I like it.

- The quality of sound, range and the clarity of the speakerphone on the handset remain excellent.

- They seem to mate to a TCX805 charger but don't seem to fit in right. So if you have a mix, don't interchange their charger bases.

- I like the overall feel and I prefer using the 905's in the bedrooms (where you might have to use them in the dark) and the 805 remains in the living room.

I'll update with my experiences as I continue to use them. For now, the TCX905 gets all five stars.
