(More customer reviews)Ever since my cable company installed digital cable in my house I have had picture problems.The analog pictures were grainy and half of the digital pictures didn't come in.They just said they would arrive shortly but never did.Numerous calls to the cable company failed to come up with a permanent fix.So I decided to take matters in my own hands.Other boosters made things worse.When I saw that this one worked with digital as well as analog I decided to give it a try.I first hooked it up from the cable box to the vcr and got no improvement.So I tried hooking it up where the signal first came in before the cable reciever and it worked beautifully.Analog pictures are clearer than ever and all the digital pictures come in.No more "Please Wait" screens.I am mad that my stupid cable company refused to do this but I am thrilled to finally have what I pay for!Great product!

(More customer reviews)I'm very happy with this device. Looking at the reviews, I think those who are unhappy with it do not understand what it does:

An amplifier like this is not a magic box that will convert an unusable signal (say from a digital TV antenna) into a usable signal; rather it solves a very specific problem.
Suppose you have an signal that is usable at the point of the antenna, but is NOT usable at the point where you want to use it. This might be because you have a long run of coax cable between the antenna and your TV/converter box/tuner/whatever; or it might be because you want to split the signal to feed it into multiple TV/tuner boxes/etc. If this is you situation, the device works very well.

If your problem is that your signal is too weak to be useful directly at the point it comes out the antenna, even before it goes through any long runs of coax or splitters, then no amplifier in the world is going to help you out. What you need is to acquire a better signal. Depending on your circumstances, this might be done by
- changing the angle/orientation of your antenna
- moving it around the room (so it's nearer windows or away from metal or whatever)
- moving it higher (if necessary going outside the house and onto the roof)
- or getting a larger antenna with a larger collecting area.

(More customer reviews)For those who are not sure what this product does...it connects a single headphone jack (found on portable audio equipment) to right/left audio jack connectors on an audio receiver.So if your looking to hook up say your mp3 player or portable cd player to the receiver of your home stereo system look no further, you've found the right product.

I use this Belkin splitter to attach my muvo (mp3 flash player) and ,sometimes, my mp3 portable iriver cd player to my stereo system.Works great.I don't have a problem with the connection being loose, but I don't have an ipod to test this out with.My mp3 cd players and the few flash mp3 players I've tried work fine with this. Belkin, as usual, offers a quality product.

Cheap, works well, recommended.

(More customer reviews)I have a couple of the PCT Amplifier in my set up. They do a great job of keeping the DTV signals strong. I have one station that is 90 degrees from the other stations that with out a distribution amp, the signal degrades to the point where I'm lucky to get 20-30%. With these amps, i'm getting 80-85% signal. I'm also occationally getting out of market stations that I was not getting without them.

To be clear, these help keep the signal from degrading along the long runs from the antenna to the tv/reciever - they are not boosting the antenna power.

So who would benefit from a cable amplifier like this?Anyone who is having difficulty receiving a solid and reliable cable TV or cable modem signal is a candidate for the BDA-S4.But first check with your cable company to make sure they have done all they can to get a high quality cable feed into your home, with high quality cables, splitters and connectors. If they've "been there, done that," and you still notice frequent outages of your cable internet service, or pixilated (distorted) images on live or recorded TV shows from cable, then you may very well need a drop amp like this one.

This four-output amplifier is particularly helpful if you are splitting a cable signal coming into your house to multiple rooms for multiple TV feeds (and this is perfectly legal to do, per the Cable Act of 1992).Whenever you split a cable signal, you lose approximately 3 dB (decibels) of signal strength.Split a signal enough times and it can cause you to lose your cable modem feed or get sporadic distortion on your digital cable channels.Insert a cable amplifier like this into your cable feed as close as possible to where it enters the home and it will boost the signal enough to survive multiple splits and, in most cases, will allow you to enjoy a glitch-free cable TV signal throughout your home as well as a solid high-speed internet connection.

(More customer reviews)I'm fairly pleased with this little retractable cable.Fortunately, I had read the other reviews, so I was not surprised by the short length and it works for me.Some things you should know:

* As other reviewers mention, this is not a 6' cable.The technical details have the correct 2.5' length, but the description is incorrect.
* The retractor mechanism is a little cheap and I've gotten it tangled a couple of times.That being said, I've always been able to untangle it and it has recovered.
* The rubber around the plug ends is a good size for iPods and most stereo inputs, but it is too wide for the audio jack in an iPhone.I took a sharp knife to one end of the cable and shaved down the sides, then it worked fine even for the recessed iPhone jack.This wasn't too hard to do, though that cable end doesn't look too pretty now.

In spite of these reservations, the cable works well, the audio quality seems fine, and it is small, convenient, and nicely functional.

After seeing such a distinct improvement in the signal for my primary audio/video system I immediately went out and purchased another one for the computer room to use for both the cable modem and the television in that room.This is the perfect two-way splitter for either a television/cable modem hookup or a television with PIP (picture-in-picture) capability in conjunction with a cable box or satellite receiver!
