This Cobra set not only conveniently includes lith-ion batteries, but they are incredibly clear, even when separated by miles of snow terrain. Not only are the transmissions clear, but the speakers themselves are bright and distortion-free, with no howling even at high volumes. The call buttons were also great, as it allows you to "feel" a page even when the device is buried in heavy pockets. Absolutely perfect for what I wanted, I don't think I'll ever need to buy any other radios (except more of these!).
